The Secret to Not Getting Nail Polish On Your Skin
Painting your nails at home is a great way to manage your expenses and keep your manicures affordable. But let’s face it, not all of us are professional manicurists. We have a tough time coloring between the lines and not getting polish all over our cuticles in the process. Luckily, there’s a foolproof way to avoid that.
Step One: Apply Vaseline
One great way to avoid getting nail polish on your skin is by taking a baby Q-tip and rubbing Vaseline with it around the surrounding skin and cuticles before you apply polish. This way, even if you do miss, the polish won’t stick to where it’s not supposed to because of the Vaseline. Just make sure you don’t get any of the Vaseline on your actual nail, if you do, take another Q-tip and clean it up with rubbing alcohol.
Step Two: Paint On Your Polish
After you prep with Vaseline, you’re now ready to paint your nails, perhaps even do some fun, easy nail art.
Step Three: Wipe Off Any Excess
This may be the most satisfying step. After your nails dry, you can wipe off the Vaseline or wash your hands and any polish on your skin will come right off. This is the best way to ensure perfectly painted nails every time — what more could you ask for?
